Oddities in Pictures

Yep! Weird food.

More of the strange but true encounters with food that I have all the time.  These are just the photogenic ones.

Dinosaur Egg? Quail Liver?

Just Blue Pickled Garlic. Trace copper in the water supply or aged vinegar reacting with sulfur compounds in the garlic to create copper sulfate.

Which of these seeds is not like the other?

Turned out NOT to be mouse-poop. . . but a bit of twig coated with black caraway powder during the hulling process.  Snap it open, it's white on the inside. Gave me the willies, and the purveyor was quick to show up with new crop seeds even though he showed me the lab results on this batch and assured me no rodents had access to my spices.

Cleaning the alley one frosty morning. . .

"We Three Kings of vegetables are
Wearing snow that blew from afar. . ."

The King Tut Carrot. . .

Formerly the nose from a snowman built in November, then freeze-dried until Spring.

Enjoy!
